ME3-O3 Ozone Sensor
The ME3-O3 ozone gas sensor is a constant-potential electrolytic sensor. It operates by facilitating the electrochemical oxidation of ozone at the working electrode. An electronic circuit maintains a constant, appropriate potential across the working electrode and the reference electrode within the electrolytic cell—a potential at which the electrochemical oxidation or reduction of ozone can occur. Since the Faraday current generated by oxygen during oxidation or reduction reactions is negligible, the current produced by the electrochemical reaction of the target gas is directly proportional to its concentration, in accordance with Faraday's law. Consequently, the concentration of the target gas can be determined by measuring the magnitude of this current.
