The ME3-C₂H₃Cl electrochemical gas sensor is based on electrochemical principles. It utilizes the redox reaction of the gas being measured on the working electrode and counter electrode of the sensor to release charges, which form a current through an external circuit. The magnitude of the current is proportional to the gas concentration, thereby achieving quantitative measurement of the target gas.
